11: 15 am Speaker – Rick Durand on Nursery Propagation of Plants
Rick Durand, HBScF, a veteran plant breeder and plant explorer with over 45 years nursery experience in Manitoba and B.C. A strong propagation program is a cornerstone to a successful nursery business and it determines whether a plant can be increased economically for sale to you the prairie gardeners.
This presentation will discuss the six major propagation techniques used in the commercial production of trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals. This 45-minute presentation includes over 120 slides that were taken from major nurseries to show the needed facilities to successfully propagate plants.
